An estimated 12 million people are facing starvation in the East Africa region - particularly in Somalia, into north kenya, South Sudan, parts of Ethiopia and surrounds. Lack of rain over consecutive years, increasing food prices and conflict in the region are contributing factors and it is being called the wrost drought and situation in 60 years.
Pray for these lands
- for their governments, their leaders to be making wise, fair and noncorrupt decisions
- for all the agency personnel doing what they can to provide shelter, food, water and care for those sick, dying, and displaced
- for rain
- for peace
- for compassion
The UN High Commission for Refugees has updated information and reports to follow as the situation changes. Numerous organisations are also taking donations including World Vision and Tear Fund.
