We live in an ever-changing world, yet the message of Acts 1:8 is unchanged. What Jesus required of his disciples at the dawn of the first millennium, he still requires of us at the dawn of the third millennium.

For over 125 years New Zealand Baptists have been called to serve God in every corner of the world. We have always understood God’s Mission – it’s Mission: World. Our Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria here in Aotearoa New Zealand is critical in the establishment and growth of the church of Jesus Christ, but our call to the ends of the earth is equally critical.

As each new generation discovers and approaches its mission to the world in new and different ways MISSION WORLD is here to help. MISSION WORLD is a department of the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society, whose mandate is to enable the Baptist churches of New Zealand to fulfil the Great Commission anywhere in the world that God directs. MISSION WORLD’s objectives are to inspire, resource and mobilise NZ Baptists to reach the world.

Partnerships are key in this mandate and these objectives. To help us achieve these we have entered into such partnerships with a number of organisations who together provide support and access to ministries all over the world. Drawing on their expertise and experience in the regions and in various activities, we bring greater collaboration but also more significant support for those exploring a call to serve.

MISSION WORLD is committed to resourcing individuals and churches by helping them develop their call to mission and providing effective communication strategies that enable people to be fully informed about what is happening in the world and what NZ Baptists are involved in.
